Waterman's Grill - Edenton

Expensive, and the food quality is poor. Nothing fresh. Shrimp was alright, steak was bad.

I first went to Waterman’s about 10 years ago and the food was amazing. I went tonight with a party of 9 (family visiting from out of town). We’re were seated relatively quickly. Things kind of went down hill from there. Appetizer portions were pretty small. I received unsweetened tea instead of sweet which was corrected upon refills. Most of the food was just ok. My biggest disappointment was the crab meat obviously came from a can. The juice wasn’t even drained well. It had no flavor and was riddled with bits of shell. The grittiness of shell was even present in the appetizer which was some kind of mushroom stuffed crab cake. Overall I would say the food is no where near deserving of the prices being charged but the staff was very friendly. Probably won’t be back anytime soon.

Arrived at 5pm when the opened. We order two meals off the specials menu and appetizers. The appetizers came out promptly, and then again a second time. Obviously no coordination with the serving staff. The seafood bisque was delicious. We did not receive our meals until 6:20...and both were tasteless. The fish had no seasons whatsoever, and the prime rib was bland and extremely tough. We left without finishing our meals. The waitress apologized many times to us about our wait and offered us dessert on the house, which we declined. She was excellent. I won't waste my time or money there again.

Nice quiet bar/restaurant in a good location by the water. Cute downtown area. Food was excellent, the employees were very friendly, and I look forward to going back!
