Baba - Edinburgh, City of

We had an incredible dining experience at a charming restaurant. The atmosphere was fantastic and the lamb and cabbage were our favorite dishes. The grill and side dishes were delicious and truly memorable. We will definitely be returning next time we are in Edinburgh.

I highly recommend this restaurant located in the 5-star Kimpton hotel. The atmosphere is great and the restaurant is always bustling. The cocktails are delicious and they offer a lovely variety of food, especially their sharing plates.

We made a reservation at the restaurant while staying at the Kimpton Hotel, which is on the premises. The food was delicious, a unique take on Mediterranean small plates with a Scottish twist. The dishes were tasty and fresh. We ordered 6-7 small plates for the two of us, which was the perfect amount. Our selections included chuck eye steak, lamb shoulder, chargrilled cabbage, shawarma cauliflower, olives, and chicken wings. The staff was exceptionally friendly and even surprised us with a complimentary dessert to celebrate our honeymoon. We will definitely return the next time we are in Edinburgh. Thank you so much!

We had a great meal, sumptuous surroundings in this large restaurant. If you like lots of dishes to share (as per the photos) this is the place for you; and pretty reasonably priced.

We were staying in the attached hotel Kimpton Charlotte Square and decide on a whim to have dinner in Baba. It was a Friday night, they were really busy and we hadn’t booked. The host was amazing he said ok, so I don’t have tables but I have options! Offered the choice of a share table with some other couple or, he would make a space for us at the end of the bar which over looked the open kitchen pass. Husband and I both have a background in catering so this was a no brainer! Within 2 minutes we were comfortably seated on bar stools watching the kitchen team at work. Our server was very friendly, explained the menu and gave us suggestions on how many dishes to order. We weren’t super hungry so opted for 2 mezze and 2 from the grill. We also ordered 2 cocktails. The hummus is divine and all the other dishes we full of flavour. Service was pretty quick considering how busy they were. I would definitely recommend if you are in Edinburgh.
