Locanda De Gusti - Edinburgh, City of

We had a fantastic experience at Locanda De Gusti. It could potentially be one of my favorite Italian restaurants, and when we visit Edinburgh again, we will definitely be returning. The service was exceptional from the moment we arrived until the end of our meal. The servers were attentive without being intrusive, always making sure our wine and water glasses were refilled. We started with some delicious cocktails and were treated to a tasty amuse bouche of panzanella. Our starters of ravioli and a cheesy asparagus sandwich were both satisfying and flavorful. The quality of the food was excellent, and we felt well-fed. For our main course, we enjoyed the Grigliata di Pesce, a mix of grilled fish, prawns, and langoustines, all cooked to perfection. Though we were too full for dessert, we will definitely try it next time. A nice touch was the shot of limoncello at the end. I highly recommend this restaurant and wish I lived in Edinburgh to enjoy it more often!

During our weekend trip to Edinburgh, we had the pleasure of dining at one of the best authentic Italian restaurants in the city. As food enthusiasts, we felt right at home and can't wait to visit again soon.

This was my first visit to this restaurant after previous attempts to book were unsuccessful. I suggest booking well in advance as it is well worth the wait. I have already booked to return. The service was great and there was warmth from all the front of house staff, with a special mention to Laura. The food was absolutely delicious. I shared a Frittata and Caprese to start. It was a tough decision to choose mains, but for maximum enjoyment, I had the grilled fish platter and the sautéed seafood platter, both for one. Both dishes were delicious. The grilled fillets of fish were as good as anything I can recall anywhere. The wine list was good, with the Greco di Tufo being excellent. Overall, our choices were not cheap, but it was a special occasion and for the overall service, atmosphere, and taste, it felt like great value.

Sweet langoustines, succulent prawns, perfectly cooked fish. The restaurant was full, from what we could hear, of mostly returning diners. I can understand why the repeat business. Great hospitality and wonderful food. Highly recommended.
