Oink is decent, however it would be greatly improved if they followed the Bavarian tradition of serving solid slices of pork with crackling, instead of charging extra for hard fat. It seems like a tactic to make more money from customers. I much prefer the texture and flavor of solid pork slices over mushy meat. I won't be returning to this restaurant.
I ordered the pork with haggis. The pork was tasteless, but the haggis was delicious. Although the pork was filling, it didn't meet my expectations. The presentation in the picture was not visually appealing.
Ideal for a food enthusiast looking for a quick sandwich in Edinburgh. We ordered a regular-sized sandwich and a smaller portion. I was a bit shocked by how small the smaller portion was, but it's perfect for sampling the flavors. I recommend ordering a larger size for a full meal. The additional fillings were also tasty, and the homemade sauces were a great selection.
Rarely have we had such a great fast food experience as we did at Oink, Victoria Street, Edinburgh. It is basically a Pullet pork from the suckling pig, which you can even see from the window. Piglet (small) is way too small but Oink (medium) was just the right size. White bread with Chili/Tomato, sage and onion was just wonderful. Partly the very hard rind is issued with not entirely without risk, as partly very very hard.
