However, when the bill arrived, I was charged almost £3 for bottled water and a 10% service charge. The menu did mention that a service charge would be added for tables of 6 or more, but there were only two of us and we were still charged the extra fee. The waitress, a mature woman, had a dismissive attitude and could improve her customer service by smiling more. We live near this restaurant but haven't been in years, and now I understand why. We will not be returning.
We haven't been to this charming pub in a while, but we were impressed by the excellent service, menu options, delicious food, and variety of drinks. We thoroughly enjoyed our evening out.
Thank you all for a lovely evening at your venue, atmosphere, food and wonderful staff, thank Annya and Shaun for making our stay, so special. What a place
Gorgeous meal while staying next door at The Lane. The haggis, beeps and tatties starter was amazing. Very hot September evening and staff kindly set us up with a table in the beer garden. Food was perfect, service attentive, wine reasonably priced and champagne clearly a speciality. Definitely food quality matched the price.
Wow, what a place, undoubtably the best pub that I’ve ever been to. Steeped in history, full of character, wide range of drinks and excellent food all at moderate prices. A place not to be missed.
