The Golf Tavern - Edinburgh, City of

The Golf Tavern is a local favorite that can be easy to overlook since it's tucked away and out of sight. However, it's a place I always enjoy going to. It has a laid-back atmosphere, is unassuming, and offers a variety of vegetarian food options. My family from New Zealand also had a great time here, and the waitress who had recently visited Aotearoa made our experience even more special with her personal touch.

Although, I think it is a great place for drinking and sports the food is reaply bad, most of it is sold out

I had made a reservation at the Golf Tavern for a Sunday evening specifically to watch the NFL. I had mentioned this when booking and called in advance to confirm that they would be showing the game. However, when I arrived, the staff were hesitant to switch one of the TV screens to the NFL for me, even though it was advertised as live sport that they offer. Despite pointing out the false advertising, the bar staff member simply stated they were not the manager, which was not a satisfactory or professional response. Additionally, the location of the pub outside the city centre required a taxi ride to and from. I was understandably disappointed and frustrated by the situation, as the staff seemed ill-prepared to handle it. I would advise caution when booking in advance for live sports to avoid disappointment.

Last week, I had lunch with my coworkers at this restaurant and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The food was delicious and the seating was comfortable. I highly recommend this place!

Food was delicious, big portions and great options! Service is always fantastic at The Golf Tavern and Mason the manager welcomes you in with a big smile. Can't wait for the next visit!
