Came for cocktail class- Fraser served us and was amazing! So chatty and welcoming. Great activity for the night! Would recommend.
Felt sorry for the staff. They were all quite young (20's) I didn't see any evidence of a manager. It was a busy Friday evening, our booking was 5.30 -7.30 pre theatre. We booked ahead online. On arrival we were given a table in the bar area not the restaurant as we had been advised online but that was ok. After ordering we waited an hour and 20 minutes for our food, watching others who arrived later being served big orders before us. The table next to ours hadn't received their food either (also going to the theatre) and were VERY upset at the service. Our food eventually arrived at 6.55pm, so we had literally 20 minutes to eat it and leave. Some of the things we wanted weren't on the menu. It just seemed like chaos. Won't be going there again pre theatre. The staff were overwhelmed, there clearly weren't enough of them or they weren't organised enough to cope.
Really disappointed with the whole experience. Booked ahead and paid deposit for large table booking, first booking for dinner then another straight afterwards for drinks. Met upon arrival, gave name of booking and were told no table service. They advised us to go to bar to order and could get table service there as we had paid deposit. Bar tender told us that wasn’t possible despite us being told otherwise. We also weren’t allowed to start an “tab”, even though having it on a bill at the end would have been beneficial due to 1) the deposit being taken off and 2) we were splitting it between us and hasn’t ever been a problem anywhere else . We Ordered the food at the bar and it was a lengthy wait, which we didn’t mind as there was 12 of us. We ordered another round of drinks before food came and had to cart each of them over to the table (even though other tables had gotten table service and a tab). Food came and it was okay, but there was a few items not available so having to go back and forward whilst ordering to swap out items was a bit of an inconvenience. An hour after food was finished, table wasn’t cleared. Felt like all staff were avoiding the table. We ordered (at the bar) another round of drinks and by this time the table was full, so we started to carry the empties up to the bar ourselves. Someone came over and started to clear but only done about 1/3 of the table then disappeared. Another 30 mins passed and we started to clear the table ourselves. We spent a fortune and had the money to do so but it just didn’t feel like a pleasant experience at all. Only plus was the 2nd booking we had for drinks they allowed us to stay at the same table (even though we previously requested that), after they had told us they needed the table back in 10mins. I think this was so they didn’t need to clear the table. Certainly don’t expect be waited on hand and foot and we were a group of 12, aged between 24-64. Not under any pretences that it isn’t stressful for staff on a sat night pre theatre, but the bar wasn’t overly busy and felt like we were just a hassle as soon as we walked in the door. Cocktails were tasty, food was average, service let it down. Won’t be back.
Service was a bit slow but they were visit. Would maybe try again at a quieter time of year. food was ok but very basic.
