When the waitress came over I asked about the fish and chips and she told me if it was ordered GF it would be plain grilled haddock not battered therefore in my opinion, not the same as fish and chips. I then asked about the burger and they didn't have GF buns, but they did have GF bread. A really lovely place and atmosphere but a huge let down to see many menu items market with GF to find it's really a poor effort.
Friendly staff, a good menu. I had an excellent seafood cahowder that needs a little less cream and a little more quality fish stock very well. I was offered more brot without asking what is rare in these days. a very good house white wine.
Edible meal. friendly staff. place full of charm. limited menu, but genuine quality eating at a good price. would recommend it in any case.
I loved it here! the menu was small and simple what I loved, and the taste was amazing! definitiw one of the best burgers I tried and I was pleasantly surprised with the price of everything when we got the bill amazing eating for a really affordable price!
My wife and I came after a day in Edinburgh in the king wark. we have recovered the bus to leith and decided to stop something in front of our destination at the ufer. we were really glad we did. what a warm welcome we received from dave ian in the king wark. so much that we decided to have a meal together with our drinks. we both picked up for the broken squid, chips, heaps and weedic acid sauce. the squid was large, firmly structured and the teig crispy and perfectly spiced. the chips were plentiful and well cooked. the weedic acid sauce was a manifestation. Just beautiful. my wife carin chose sticky toffee pudding with ice as desert and I had chosen an old scotch for me from dave) the perfect end of a perfect day.
