Melt Shop - Edison

We first decided to order from this restaurant after discovering it on DoorDash, where it was listed as the Crispy Chicken Shop, and the food looked really appetizing! We placed our order and were informed that it would take an hour (which wasn't an issue). However, after waiting about 45-50 minutes, we received a notification that our order was canceled. That was disappointing, but we were committed to trying out the place, so we placed an order through GrubHub instead. Once again, we were given a one-hour wait time (still not a problem). The order arrived on time, but to our frustration, only three out of the six items we ordered were delivered. We were understandably upset after waiting two hours for just half of what we paid for. Thankfully, GrubHub refunded us for the missing items, but the service quality and lack of attention from the staff, combined with the pricing, make it not worth it in my opinion. I wouldn't even bother visiting this place in person.

I?m a mall employee and I?ve gotten food on my break here a handful of times. The food is great but I don?t order here often because their wait time is unpredictable. Most recently I ordered several minutes before leaving for my break, and then spent my entire break waiting for my food to be ready. It?s unacceptable to watch other people order in person and leave with their food 5 minutes later while standing there waiting for 20+ minutes and taking up my entire break time just to wait for my food. To add insult to injury, after receiving my food once my break was completely over, I got back to my store to find that my BACON avocado ranch sandwich had no bacon on it.

Here's my review of Melt Shop: The food here is what you expect to see in commercials—those perfectly styled images that often look too good to be true. If you've ever compared a McDonald's ad for a Big Mac to the real thing, you know exactly what I mean. But every time I've visited Melt Shop (which is around 5 or 6 times), their chicken sandwich looks just like the ads—absolutely mouthwatering! This place is fantastic, but just a heads up: it's quite greasy, so be ready for that.

The menu features a variety of unique dishes. I tried the grilled Chipotle salad, which was delicious and quite filling. The staff was very friendly, but the wait for our food was excessively long. We ended up waiting over half an hour, which is quite inconvenient on a lunch break.

If I could leave 0 stars, I would. There was a broken metal foreign object I found in my sandwich that I ordered on door dash. Clearly, they have NO concern for food safety. BEWARE!
