Bonda and pakoda were below average. I loved the eggplant curry and mushroom. Hot and sour soup was extra ordinary .. around 20$ per person. Not a every week go, but once in few months.
50+ varieties on a Sunday lunch buffet for less than 20 !! They had every dish and dessert under the sun available. Highly recommend their goat pulao!
I have been to a lot of Indian restaurants in New Jersey that serve good hyderabadi Biryani. Almost all of them have the ambience similar to an Irani chai cafes in Hyderabad. But Mirchi is different. Mirchi is one of the few indian restaurants with a good, 'restaurant like ' ambience. It 's a decent restaurant to dine with your family. I don 't have any complaints with their food either. Mutton dum Biryani, chilli chicken are my favorites here.
I've had Chilli paneer, Hyderabadi Rumali Roti and Mirchi ka salan here. Well thankfully all these were really good and I was happy that I could find good Indian food for dinner. These dishes were not too spicy but were enough to tickle your taste buds. They also have a sweet store , and I've tasted jilebi made with jaggery which was too good. This is pretty famous in southern India and I was totally lost in its taste. To conclude, ambiance was good, food was good and pricing is moderate. Worth giving a try !
Though the name of the restaurant is confusing the cuisine of this eatery is south Indian at heart. With Mitch ka Salaan, Guthivenkaya and Vendakkaya curry I would say this is more Andhra special though they do serve items like Idiappam and Chicken Chettinad in their menu.<br/ <br/ The eatery is a little more pricey than others in the similar category. <br/ <br/ Their snacks like idlis, vadas, dosas are really really good. The unlimited sambhar is an invitation to many and the quality of the sambhar is more south Indian than the udipi style sambhar found in restaurants. The mulagapodi dosa ...dosa garnished with the chilly chutney and served with two chutneys and sambhar is one of the better dosas I have eaten in Edison area. Their chutney however disappoints...more of the dal base than coconut base in terms of taste.<br/ <br/ Their biriyanis are OK and maybe the non vegetarian variety is better than the veggie menu that I fed on.<br/ <br/ All in all a good presence however they will need to sharpen the local cuisine and flavors to stay in the hunt.
