The rice platters are quite affordable and offer generous portions. The pan-fried dumplings are absolutely delicious.
Everything is fresh and made from scratch. If you order the soup noodles, you'll get a gigantic bowl for under $10. All their dishes are genuine and incredibly tasty. I highly recommend trying the scallion pancakes, soup noodles, and a vegetable dish. For an authentic experience, don't miss the stinky tofu!
Upon entering, we were greeted by only one person handling both the cashier duties and serving the tables. When we mentioned our party of three, she simply said "Cash only," with no warm welcome or greeting—very off-putting. We even had to seat ourselves. It took a while for our waitress to come over to take our order. There was a bottle of warm water on the table, and when I asked for ice, the waitress responded in a rather snarky tone that they "do not have ice." We ordered pork buns, wonton soup, beef noodle soup, Peking-style pork chops, and fried rice, but the food was lackluster and certainly not as flavorful as it had been in the past. When I asked for a knife to cut the Peking-style pork chops, the waitress handed me a dull butter knife. When I requested a sharper knife, she provided a plastic one. I was surprised that a restaurant would serve food with plastic utensils alongside nice plates—that's definitely a letdown for a dining experience. Will I return? Absolutely not. In fact, I'm going to make sure my friends know to steer clear of this place. The food is mediocre, and the service is terrible. I would advise everyone to avoid this restaurant.
The soup dumplings we tried were not good at all. We ordered the crab dumpling, and it had a very overpowering fishy smell that made it clear it wasn’t fresh, even before tasting it. To make matters worse, they cleared away our side plates before we had a chance to use them for the dumplings. I opted for the beef noodle soup, and it was bland and lacked flavor. The appetizers we ordered were just as unappetizing. Overall, our bill came to $80 for food that was far from satisfactory. Save your time and money—this restaurant isn’t worth it. If only they would take a moment to taste their own dishes. Haaaaaaiya!
