Contribuisci feedbackWe noticed the Federalist Pig food truck on one of our neighborhood walks. Service was fast! Loved the black and yellow colors; it's pretty unique. Folks were friendly, offering to give us extra sauces after hearing us mention we'd like to try them all. Ok let's get into the food. The Mac and cheese was better than a stand establishment not nothing close to home made. It's casserole Mac and cheese which I always love. As for the meat we were definitely expecting bigger portions. The pork brisket was extra crunchy and the beef brisket was a little a little the dry side. Good thing we had several sauce options to use.
Best BBQ in town, judged by food options of brisket, wings, and smoked turkey. Food truck in Hyattsville no longer there, while store location in being renovated.Parking: Lot with off the street parkingWheelchair accessibility: Easy access all on one level
I love this restaurant but went to the spot in hyattsville today with my wife to grab food and the big guy was mad rude for no reason after I just asked if my food was ready. Imma just not go there and go up town instead.
Came here for the first time to order takeaway on a weekend. We ordered their combo of 4 meats and 3 sides. For meats: brisket, half grilled chicken, jalapeño cheese sausage, and pork belly. For sides: crispy brussel sprouts, fries, and mac n cheese. Total came out to around $40. We also took a sample of each of their 6 bbq sauces. What's Hot Quality. Pretty delish. Their jalapeño cheese sausage actually has a spicy kick to it. Hubby loved their burnt ends of the brisket. The meat was still tender, flavorful, and had a nice charr flavor to it. That kind of combo is not the easiest to find. Their bbq chicken also has a nice flavor to it, which goes down into the meat. That kind of flavor is not very easy to find. No complaints with any of their meats. All their meats are flavorful and tender. The brussel sprouts were actually crispy and their fries were well seasoned not too salty and still soft on the inside. Sauces. Hubby finished all their sauces, which is a compliment, especially because he's very picky with bbq sauces. Menu. Pretty good variety, which I appreciate. I enjoyed that they have also have bbq chicken, which not every bbq place has. When we ordered their chicken as part of our combo, they asked us whether we'd like dark meat or white meat, too. That question is definitely rare. Price. For the variety, the quality, and the portions, it's good value for money. Location. Pretty conveniently located off a main street in Hyattsville. It's not hard to miss, either. There's a small parking lot. What's Not Hours. Terrible. Hubby and I have been trying to figure out how to try their bbq for the past 3 months and it hasn't been easy. Every time we've driven and/or walked by this location, they're always closed. We found there's a way to order from them online, but then the next question is how do we pick up our order? There's no problem with food services having limited hours of service, but to not actually be open to the public on a regular basis is not acceptable whatsoever. Final Answer Definitely delicious and good price for value, but it's highly inconvenient to get food from here, which is the main reason why I do not plan on being repeat customer.
Brisket was dry and chewy... not moist, Sandwich did not have enough sauce on it, no napkins in takeaway bag. Workers showed no love
