It was around 1:15 on a Sunday afternoon and was not busy, about 4 tables taken. The manager took my order and was very quick. The menu is quite large ranging from beef burgers, chicken, turkey, veggie and fish burgers, poutine, milkshakes, dessert and even alcohol. You can choose from various toppings for your burger such as the regular stuff like relish, mustard, lettuce, tomato but there is also grilled onions, bbq sauce, deli pickle, banana peppers and ranch dressing. For an extra $1.19 you can choose different cheese, a fried egg, onion ring, guacamole and a few other choices. The burgers are made fresh so there is about a 6 to 8 minute wait. While waiting, you can see the staff hard at work getting the orders out. The cheeseburgers were huge and the patty was thick and juicy. It was really tasty especially with my topping choices (love the bbq sauce and banana peppers). Be prepared, it will be messy! The fries were crispy and cooked just right. The burgers here taste and look better than fast food at McDonald's or Dairy Queen. I hear the milkshakes are really good so for sure, we will be back to try one and most likely another burger!
Fatburger is one of those so so places that if your friends suggest it to you during a day of shopping your not going to have any objections but at the same time it's likely something you would not actively seek out on your own. The burgers here are good although the patties I find are a bit on the thin side. They come out very flavorful thankfully and in all my times eating here I have never had an issue with a burger being overdone. They always seem to have fresh ingredients as well which I can appreciate as runny tomatoes and wilted lettuce are big sins in my book. Fries have always been on the crispier side on all my visits which is great for me as that is how I like mine done but if you don't like a bit of a crunch with your fries your likely to take issue. They do offer some other things on the menu as well but I recommend sticking to the burgers. On one visit I had the chicken Caesar salad and the lettuce and chicken appeared to be drowning in a lake of dressing. Wait times here for me have averaged about 10-15 minutes which I think is alright considering they are a notch above typical fast food. Refills on pop are free and they have a pretty good selection available but they don't let you pump your own ketchup which is a pet peeve of mine as I love ketchup. This place isn't fantastic but it isn't bad and it's definitely one of the better spots to sit down and grab a bite in City Center
Fatburger has always been one of those places in California you hear about as a must for burgers. Thus part of me was excited it happens sometimes) when I stumbled upon the chain near the pedway entrance to Churchill station from City Centre mall. Right next to the mammoth Christmas tree on display. Walking in one gets a real polished vibe. It appears somebody thoroughly enjoys deep, shinny reds, reflection-baring blacks, corrugated metal and some neon signs thrown in for good luck. One would figure this wouldn 't work on paper, but it 's lovely inside particularly if one enjoys a commercialized version of a 50 's diner. After working with an auctioneer style of order taker, the California burger $7.99) and yam fries $4.99) called to me. The burger was good, but lacked any kind of wow factor. Though lack of wow is by no means a technical description, lets just say I am having trouble understanding why I would go out of my way to seek a Fatburger save convenience. With such an influx of restaurants in the biz of putting out premium burgers, one really need to grab the customer 's attention. Why not focus on making a killer guacamole spread for the Californian to give it some pop. It wasn 't bad, I just expected more.
Not memorable and not bad. Fries were ok and food was filling. If I am in the area and hungry I would order, but for the price prefer so many other places like burger priest and A&w even.
I was excited when I saw that a Fatburger was moving into City Center, despite having previously never been to one. When it finally opened, there were lines out the door every day for a couple weeks. Once the lines died down, I decided to give it a try. You're given a lot of choice, and I had to spend several minutes staring at the menu before I figured out how to simply order a cheeseburger and fries a little complicated for a glorified fast food joint. The prices were high, meaning that after the first day, this became a very rare lunch destination. That said, I love everything here! Their burgers (beef, chicken, or veggie) are all great, their fries are delicious (albeit a little greasy sometimes), and their milkshakes are some of the best I've had. Also, they have free refills on fountain drinks, so I always make sure I stay a little longer and try to get a little bit more out of my money with a refill or two. The decor is neat, and sitting in the booths near the back it's easy enough to forget you're in a fast food place in a mall. The staff are also friendly and efficient! Fatburger is a nice occasional indulgence that leaves you feeling a little bit better than a regular fast food binge!
