The food was very fresh and well prepared with good presentation. The house wine was delicious and very cheap for the serving and quality. We took a cheese board which had excellent cheeses from the region alongside a fine apple cake for desert. All in all for a small town with little options a very good restaurant and highly recommended.
No english speaking staff but we managed to order without speaking french. We took the set menu (starter +main+dessert) of the day for 15e each. Couple starters, 5 different meats for main dish and some desserts to choose from. We took beef and fish which were beautifully prepared and tasted good. Especially we enjoyed desserts since the restaurant we have visited on this region have had disapointing desserts. On mondays this is the only place to eat in egletons so the place was packed and the only server was very busy all the time.
We arrived at 1320 & the waitress made us wait to see if the chef was still serving lunch. He was if we were quick, so it was slightly surprising to wait 15 mins just to be given the set lunch menu. A further 15 mins past before our food order was taken along with the drinks and the food arrived first! A full 45 mins after we arrived did our drinks and they were both wrong! The food was very tasty, authentic French cuisine and reasonable value. Unfortunately, the whole experience was let down by the service and it obviously wasn't just us who felt that way, as at one stage the chef came out from the kitchen and 'counselled' the waitress on her performance.
