Loch Erisort Inn - Eilean Siar

Booked for fixed price 3 course dinner. Food very disappointing, like a school dinner. The ambience strange, the hostess made inappropriate remarks to us about her team! She asked us determinedly where we were staying and wanted to call us by our Christian names... The location is quite good for inland Lewis. The dairy free soup was a puree of plain boiled root veg with no flavour or sofritto base. The fish pie was white fish in a thin sauce bulked out with carrot, onion, peas, sweetcorn! No oily fish, no smoked fish, no seafood in it. The potato topping was popped on, not baked on in the oven with a golden finish. The dessert, apple crumble, was quite good. The value of the food was about half what one would expect for £29 a head. Don't go there.

Wonderful welcome (new owners), great Sunday roast, soup and pudd! Great value, fantastic service and view from the dining room Open Sundays! Wonderful drive around South Lochs too… great place to explore

Bedraggled and storm driven cyclists welcomed kindly. Much kindness to the weary traveller. Hospitality and a warm welcome just when it was needed.

We have never written a bad review but...We had a booking for 6 of us, turned up 12 minutes late (unfortunate circumstances). No customers at all when we arrived but were met by a young man who told us they couldn't accommodate us as we were late. We hadn't said who we were, or uttered anything so were confused as to this greeting. We tried to get more information but were told the kitchen staff couldn't cook us food as they had another booking at 630. We suggested going to the bar but a lady turned up behind us and told us sternly that we were late and told us it was the same kitchen staff cooking for the bar and we couldn't be served unless we wanted to come back at 8 pm. Appalling customer service, but on the good side we went to Stornoway and had a lovely meal with excellent staff.

We had a lovely meal here, food very good,good sized portions, nice selection for the grandchildren. We had a game of pool with the kids,which they really enjoyed. Then through to the restaurant,orders taken very quickly,by the very pleasant waitress. Food arrived soon after,hot and really tasty. Really enjoyed it. Will certainly return when back in Lewis.
