Cooks perfectly and sat right. My wife ordered the onion soup and it was also very good. The wines are good and not so expensive. I recommend this restaurant.
I had several meals during my stay. The staff service is excellent. I don't want to comment on the crossroads, because as a Chinese traveler I don't like the western crusade very much.
I was a few nights in Alto Calafate Hotel and although there was someone in the restaurant for dinner, I man and I decided to dinner there... Worst decision! We wanted to try Grilled Cordero. After an hour waiting, we received the meat extremely boiled and heated again. Not delicious. The salad we chose for the accompaniment was wrong! Just two dishes! one was over cooked and the other was made with wrong ingredients!!!! The best part was when the bill was delivered... The price for the wine did not correspond to the price in the menu... Presumably the prices were updated a few days before, but they forget to update the menu!!! No worthy...
We drove quickly to Calafete to visit the glaciers. We stayed at Alto Calafete and decided to dine at the hotel for the first night. The food was okay compared to everything I ate in Argentina during my time. The service was good as the waitress looked after us. Breakfast was like any free hotel breakfast. Juice, fruits, pastries, cheese, etc... shop before you start your day. Note: We took a day trip to glaciers and this place offers a baggage. Chicken sandwich that meets the point.
We settled for the BBQ'd lamb from the grill. Excellent choice, one portion will feed two people, we had it on two nights, the first night the crispy skin was quite salty but the second night just perfect. The meat was well cooked moist and plentiful. The French fries were very oily and on the second night we had the puree potatoes which was a better option. The house wine is very good very very drinkable. The only issue we had was that rolls were served burnt on the second night, not acceptable. I sure you could get better food in town, have no issues in recommending for hotel guests, but not worth a taxi ride from town. However the views over the lake are spectacular so be sure to reserve a table by the window
