The parking lot was empty and there were no other customers in the restaurant. I was hesitant about having lunch there, but my companion insisted. I'm glad we did, as the food was incredibly fresh! I ordered the Ahi tuna with miso glaze, which was delicious. My companion had the fish tacos, which were even better than those at a famous seafood market deli. I mentioned that I would like to come back. The restaurant is clean and quiet, making it a perfect place to enjoy fresh food. We placed our order at the counter and the food was served to our table quickly.
I usually don't order pasta and don't really like garlic but this garlic pasta has to be one of the best ones i've ever had. it was so creamy and the chicken had such a great crunch! the bread went with the pasta so well. we are outside and the atmosphere was nice for a little lunch. the service was also great.
We've been going here for years and enjoy their menu, although now we've been asking for low or no oil and low salt, if possible. I'm partial to anything with salmon that they have tacos, salad plates, bowls... We don't order it much, but we do love the clam chowder and crab cakes, as a treat. They incorporate healthy ingredients such as quinoa, arugula, kale, and broccoli. There are daily specials, on line deals, and happy hour is 3 to 6:00. Roxanne and Lizette work hard to make your order right. There's a nice airy patio as well as plenty of indoor seats.
On my first visit to Malibu Eatery (in El Segundo, not Malibu), I got some crispy Baja fish tacos (topped with cabbage, baja sauce, pico de gallo, cotija cheese) and I wasn't blown away. They were good and a nice size but I enjoy the simplicity of the fish tacos next door. I came back and tried the chicken skewers which come with one side and I was instantly hooked. The chicken is tender all white meat and has a delicious seasoning with some fresh pepper/onion slices. As far as sides, I've always been impressed with the taste, quality, and portions this goes for the sautéed corn, basmati rice, seasonal veggies, and they have some of the best hummus and pita I've had in a while. It's $5 for an extra side so I usually opt for a second for a full, hearty, well balanced meal. There's a free parking lot in the back shared amongst all the restaurants. There's a good amount of indoor seating, as well as plenty of covered patio tables outside as well where I can park my dog. Prices are on par for the South Bay, but I'd rather pay a little extra for the consistent quality, taste and care that goes into the food here. A must visit whenever I am in town.
I always enjoy their freshly cut salad. I order the chopped Greek salad with salmon. This is a great salad with a large piece of salmon. Each of my visits to this restaurant, the dining area is clean. There is outdoor dining on their patio. Tables service is available if dining in. The music that is played in the dining area and patio is great. Not too loud. The service is fast. Lunch time it can get crowded. Order ahead option is available. On weekdays they offer happy hour. Beer and wine is served during happy hour. Parking can get tight during the lunch hours.
