China Wok - Elgin

First of all let me say that I'm originally from Chicago Illinois. Chicago is a den a hub of delicious food recipes and all types of you know Delicacies. So when I came to South Carolina I was surprised to find out that the food is not so great you have to really search and find a great place if you want to have delicious spice tasty food. So in my search of great Chinese food I came across the Chinese Wok by random and come to find out their food was very comfortable and reminded me of all the delicious food Chinese food that I could get in Chicago. The place is small but you can dine in. But most importantly the food actually has taste is spicy that sweet that's hot and they serve it with a smile. I would recommend this place if you want to get delicious Chinese food. If you want garbage go somewhere else but if you want something that's going to be really good this is a nice place to go to try it out. And trust me for a person that comes from Chicago to give high praises to a restaurant in South Carolina like this it's a big deal so try it out, you'll be very pleasantly surprised. The food here is delicious. We tried a little bit of everything and were not disappointed. Friendly staff and quick food preparation. We will definitely come back when we have a craving for some wholesome Asian food. They have good wings, and so are the fried wontons. Love that they are open on Sundays, too! Green scallions, bean sprouts, and egg are my main pet peeves when it comes to my Asian rice. No Peking Duck. Smh. Other than that the food was great, no complaints. Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 3

Flavorless! We went here because of the good reviews. I got vegtable fried rice, which looked amazing. I expected an explosion of flavor, but was terribly disappointed. It tasted like it was boiled in water...little to no flavor. The chickenwith broccoli had a little flavor, but nothing like I'm accustomed to. I will not patronize this place again.

We used to order from here all the time but stopped due to inconsistent quality. The order we got today was terrible. Fried potstickers had zero texture. They were disgusting. Beef and Broccoli had no flavor and was cold. Wont go back.
