The prices are reasonable as well. Update: I’m even more impressed than I was during my last visit! The appetizers and beers are absolutely amazing!
Had a much needed girl time lunch on the deck..it was fabulous! Would recommend it to anyone.. We waited a little bit. But the site of the river, conversation and good drinks..made it so worth every bite! Can't wait for the next visit.
The list of beer you 're given when seated is unreal for this little town. Then I was given the bottle and glass to pour it in which read The Red Monk and it all became clear. Had no idea going into this restaurant that it was owned by the same people who run the great Des Moines establishment. I saw an episode of Iowa ingredient detailing their menu and whatnot and put it on a list of must try restaurants around Iowa. Since I was passing thru to do some trout fishing I had to stop in. Service and food were phenominal. I had a pita, sesame seed, herb blend (including sumac! , and cheese along with olives for a starter. It was so fresh on this 90 degree day. The lamb tagine is making me sweat but has the best smoked paprika I 've ever tasted. I would highly recommend if you 're ever near Elader. Back to my dish!
The beer selection is incredible! I added a beef goat sausage to my meal, and it was fantastic. The salad was super fresh, topped with a delicious peppercorn Parmesan dressing.
We hadn't tried Algerian cuisine before, so we decided to give this restaurant a go during our stay. The food was delicious, and they had an excellent selection of craft beers. The staff were friendly, and we enjoyed sitting outside by the river.
