We've eaten here before and enjoyed it every time. On Sunday we came to breakfast. Limited elections, but those we got were excellent!!! I have an omelette that had a lot of bacon and ham and cheese. My wife got the pancakes with blueberries three big, fluffy cakes full of berries. We both shared and took half the pancakes home. Our son ordered the eggs Benedict with chopped eggs. He liked it. His wife got shrimps and grits with an added egg. I'm not sure if they have breakfast every Sunday or shortly after Easter. Call.
Excellent pub food and nice, small bar. I had the pulled pork melt and my SO had a double burger. Both came with a selection of fries. Homemade dressing is a tasty combo of Duke 's mayo, bacon, a little bacon grease, garlic, onion, honey and jalapeno. Homemade ketchup has bourbon, brown sugar and pepper addres. The pulled pork is excellent, as was the burger on brioche bun. The sweet tea is so good my SO downed one and got two more to go. As to the alcohol, there 's a good selection of domestic and craft beers, mules, other libations and and a short selection of wines. As to the hard stuff, you can get one or two fingers of Redemption Rye, Elijah Craig Small Batch, Four Roses Small Batch, 1792 Small Batch, Larceny, Journeyman Featherbone Bourbon, Journeyman Last Feather Rye, Journeyman Buggywhip Wheat, Journeyman WR White, Old 55 Single Barrel and Jefferson Groth. All this while having Samuel L. Jackson and John Travolta from Pulp Fiction watch over you. Oh yeah, and a few excellent desserts made in house daily. While this review is detailed on booze, I wouldn 't hesitate to describe this as a family place, at least before later evening.
I love this place! The staff is friendly and is attentive without overstepping. I have yet to taste something I don't like. The brisket sandwich melts in your mouth. The olive burger was delicious tonight. The loaded smoked potatoes are our favorite side.
This is one of those local-owned, fantastic neighborhood restaurants that you need to check out. It's unassuming, in the middle of a Martin's strip mall. Don't let that fool you. This is a gem! Absolutely try anything that is grilled or smoked. It is fantastic! The wings are smoked, then fried. Yum! The pulled pork is outstanding. In one of the pics is the pork tenderloin. I'll try that next time. They don't do anything normal. The ketchup has bourbon and brown sugar. There is a fry dip has mayonnaise and bacon. Both are worth trying! There has been very little that I tried there that wasn't unique or tweaked in some way. No chain food here! One day, you will see this on Diners, Drive ins and Dives, or a similar show. We went there for lunch, and it was quiet at 11:20. By the time we left, it was packed. The owners also own Pizo Foz next door, so if one is packed, try the other. Both are outstanding. If you are in Elkhart and need some unique and outstanding food, try Bacon Hill.
