Drunken Roots Grill - Elkhart

For the middle of nowhere, in an extraordinarily small town, this place is actually pretty great. The queso burger was SOOOOOOOO GOOD. And beer is standard but cheap and they give you a lot. There's pool, music, karaoke, and a little bit of that uncomfortable old rural trashy vibe but yes, I really appreciated it since I was only in Kansas for the state high point.

Stopped by for a burger cold beer! Friendly place! Will return on a hoppin’ Weekend night!

Drunken Roots is off the main highway, but well worth the effort. Great burgers, friendly staff and cool decor. I expect to visit again when in Elkhart.

Ok. So it 's Elkhart, KS and I could literally find zero Yelp reviews (a first for me). On the advice of the front desk clerk we walked just under a half mile to Drunken Roots . We had to walk across the railroad tracks and through the industrial area filled with grain silos. I was beginning to have second thoughts, I 'll be honest. But we popped our heads in and announced we were looking for food and were greeted with warmth and enthusiasm. Place was super clean inside, great music, good company. We were CLEARLY from out of town but no one made us feel unwelcome. Food was good and at a great price. We do a fair bit of work here but had always assumed Pizza Hut was our only option. If you plopped this place in the city we 'd probably be stopping in a couple of times a week.

Awesome place! Great food and great service. I definitely recommend.
