Hardy's - Elkhart

This is a fantastic local bar with amazing bartenders! The daily lunch specials are incredible, especially the chili—it's the best in town. Ever since I started working in Elkhart and discovered this hidden gem, it's become my go-to spot. I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys cozy hometown bars with excellent food. You absolutely have to stop by and give it a try!

What a fantastic place! The food is delicious, and the beer is perfectly chilled. The staff treats you like family, which makes the experience even better. Keep up the excellent work!

This is currently the only place in Elkhart that you can get food after 10pm. The Kitchen is open late, normally until midnight. I have always felt safe and welcome at this downtown staple and would recommend to anyone looking to grab a bite to eat or have a drink. This bar has a ton of regulars, but you will also find the theater crowd here before and after Lerner shows, guests from Hotel Elkhart often walk the short block to Hardy's, the crowd is always eclectic. Hardy’s, 523 and Five Star are basically a triangle in the same block and it is a great place to bar hop to. In fact you will normally find the wait staff and even the owners of the other restaurants, bars and Main Street establishments there after their shifts end. Hardy’s is the best late night place in Elkhart. And one of the only places to serve food late. The food at Hardy’s is good. My favorite part are the pool tournaments every Wednesday and Sunday night. I am impressed how Hardy’s is continuous growing and evolving.

While the bartender was nice, the gentleman who is apparently the bouncer is rude. I had already been there, had three beverages, and then was told I couldn't have my laptop bag and was told to immediately leave. There's a way to state policy, and there is a way to be rude about it. Apparently individuals who take their work home in the form only a laptop bag are not welcome, and in fact are treated in a hostile manner. But it could have been just my skin color because he didn't treat anyone else like that. Just the minority.

Best bacon double cheeseburger I've had in a LONG TIME! The owner and staff are really cool people. They were even nice enough to set up a amp and mic and let me bring my guitar in for an impromptu open mic/acoustic show.
