Charlie's Pizza Sub Shop - Ellsworth

This is my favorite pizza spot! They have the best calzones and cheese breadsticks!

I really enjoy using the delivery service! It’s incredibly convenient on a busy workday, and the pizza always arrives hot!

If I could give this restaurant zero stars, I absolutely would. I ordered a steak and cheese that was only about two inches in diameter and looked like something I wouldn’t even feed my dog. The French fries were cold, so I called the manager to express my concerns. Instead of addressing the issue, he threatened me about their policies after they charged my card. I asked them to pick up the awful food and refund my money, but it was a frustrating experience. If they had offered to remake the meal rather than being difficult to deal with, I would have been okay with that. I cannot recommend this restaurant to anyone, not even someone in need; it’s simply not acceptable.

Honestly, it's the only other place in Ellsworth that delivers pizza and I kind of prefer it over pizza hut. The reviews here are mostly clouded by personal issues and that's just unfair. It's a family business, it's not like they're a giant chain restaurant so yea their food isn't going to be of THE highest quality you can get but I've only ever had nice experiences with both the employees and the food and that's good enough for me :

Telling people (or even writing on the menu) that there is a $2 deliver charge would be a good start... Though it would be the start on the long long long long super long road to 'Fair to Midling ' that they will never ever come close to seeing the end of. Awful.
