I started with an asparagus cream soup with no fuss and tasty. as a main course I chose the white-saving and gazed carrots served calf. the part proved to be really generous, the flesh was delicate and perfectly prepared. as dessert I had three shovels (vanilla, chocolate) of the homemade eise: actually very good and tasteful. I felt disappointed by the service. the chef, who is also the owner, did not come out to welcome me... although I was one of only two guests at midday! his wife did the service; she was always polite, but slightly cold. I miss a real hauch of gas friendship! for Swiss standards the prices remained very reasonable, the bill was chf60.
Hostess (older dame) extremely rude and involuntary. Although the waitress spent at the close of chf600 on room and dinner, the waitress was unfriendly and seemed irritated in the regular with her roll (career). You're done, they've finally got 10 weeks off. they lead...a hotel restaurant rule
Here divorced while they walk the via alpina. very attractive, traditionally designed dining room. the kitchen is traditional and Swiss. service is warm and efficient (but not English). very quiet and relaxing experience. directly in the middle of the city.
The traditional eating of this restaurant is known as very well. the rösti was a little too fat. but very good tasted. only if the service could be a bit faster, this could give a point more.
The village of Elm is tucked at the far end of the Sernf valley and surrounded by beautiful mountains. Located at the entrance of the village, Gasthaus Sonne is a traditional restaurant offering simple yet tasty Swiss food. The terrace boasts scenic views over the Glarner Alps. I began with an asparagus cream soup with croutons - no fuss and tasty. As main course I chose the veal steak served with white asparagus and sautéed potatoes. The portion proved really generous, the meat was tender and perfectly prepared. As dessert I had three scoops (vanilla, chocolate) of the homemade ice cream: actually very good and flavorful. However I felt disappointed by the service. The kitchen chef, who is also the owner, did not come out to greet me...although I were one of only two guests at lunch time! His wife did the service; she was always polite but slightly cold. I miss a genuine touch of hospitality! For Swiss standards the prices remained very reasonable, the bill amounted to CHF60.
