The green beans were unexpectedly sweet, which I had never encountered before. The sausage wasn’t barbecue sausage at all but tasted more like the pre-packaged sausage served in breakfast tacos. The brisket seemed to be oven-cooked rather than smoked. The portion sizes were quite small, especially considering the prices. We weren’t checked on or offered drink refills until we had to flag someone down from the back. Ultimately, we left feeling hungry and disappointed. Two weeks later, we decided to bring the grandkids for some shaved ice, ice cream, and fries—four adults and four kids. We ordered two waters, two family-sized fries, two ice cream cones, and five shaved ices. It took five minutes to receive the water, then another ten minutes for one ice cream cone, two shaved ices, and one fry, followed by fifteen more minutes to get the remaining cone, three shaved ices, and the other fry. The fries were undercooked and soggy, with a strong oil flavor. The “family fries” were really just a medium portion, spread thinly in a square takeout container to make it look like more than the $10 we paid for them. The hostess was nice but not very attentive. After spending $60, we left feeling defeated and dissatisfied, with an empty wallet and a bad taste lingering. I hope this feedback helps the restaurant improve and become a better version of itself because we were genuinely interested in trying other items on the menu. I truly wish for its success, especially since it’s conveniently located and has so much potential. However, until things change, we’ll stick to the places we know. Good luck, and I hope others have a better experience.
This place was perfect for a meet up with a friend. I ordered the baked potato with chicken, rice and beans, and mac n cheese. I also got pecan pie and brownies to go. Big servings, great service, cutest little bathroom. Will be back soon!Food: 5/5
I stopped by to order a po'boy to go since I live nearby. When I brought it home, I found that the bread for the brisket was quite soggy with oil and also very hard, so I ended up just eating the brisket. The jalapeños tasted old and had a strange smell. I tried the fries, but I could only manage about four of them because they were really soggy. The brisket was okay, but overall, I won't be returning, even though it's so close to my home.
Other then being a little warm in dining area it was a excellent place to stop and eat. Food was awesome and served quick. Prices are right on point too. Definitely recommend stopping by here!Food: 5/5
Stopped by after a long day on the road. We stopped because the ratings were excellent. However, that was not the case for me. the lady at the window was friendly/cheerful. I ordered at the drive thru window, the turkey leg and two sides(cole slaw and cord) to go. We waited an awful long time for food that should have already been ready. Next a guy came to the window to clarify our order. He came back with a bag. The turkey was wrapped in foil, the corn on the cob was wrapped in foil. The coleslaw was in a small container. No plate or styrofoam box. The coleslaw was cloyingly sweet and gooey. The corn on the cob had been grilled or smoked or both. Not necessary with fresh corn, it had a smoky aftertaste and was very chewy. I’ve had really good smoked turkey legs from several other restaurants, that were juicy and tender and fell off the bone. This turkey leg was humongous and tough, maybe it was an old bird. Difficult to pull off the bone or bite into. The flavor was okay, but it took a lot of work to chew. I’ll probably use it to season soup.
