Thought we would give it a go as take away and blown away by the green curry and pad Thai. Perfectly cooked and so tasty. Filled with veg that was freshly and crispy. My new spot!<br/
Simply delicious! We are big fans of Thai Sontaya in Eltham. We have eaten in the restaurant a few times, but mostly we get takeaway. Their food is consistently good and the workers are always very friendly and helpful. We love the curry puffs, Pad Kee Mow and the Kow Pad. Their prices have gone up a bit in the past couple of years, but luckily we always know the food will be yummy!
On another visit to Thai Sontaya, we had to change plans last minute and ended up enjoying the Penang curry, which was absolutely delicious. Each visit to this restaurant seems to get better and better. Looking forward to the next one. After a successful previous visit, we returned to Sontaya for a family birthday celebration. We stuck to our favorite dishes but also tried the massamum curry, which turned out to be a delightful surprise. Despite the outdated menu, we were impressed with the new addition to our meal. During a stay at my parents' house before my wedding, we decided to ditch the idea of takeaway pizza and opted for a meal at Sontaya Thai instead. Despite a minor issue with a hair in one of the dishes, which was promptly replaced, the food was fantastic. My favorite was the satay chicken, with a delicious sauce that I couldn't get enough of. We also enjoyed the salt and pepper calamari and the gang phe neang Penang style curry. We avoided coconut rice, roti, and noodle dishes, but we were pleased with our meal at Sontaya.
After spending a few weeks in Japan, I was craving a delicious curry. Luckily, we found a hidden gem in the suburbs that served up a satisfying traditional Thai meal. Despite not having a reservation, the friendly staff at Sontaya managed to accommodate our party of five for a Friday night celebration. Situated at the top of a shopping center in Eltham, Sontaya is a popular spot with a loyal following. We indulged in a variety of dishes including roti, satay skewers, chicken and cashew curry, and coconut rice. The portion sizes were generous and the rice was fluffy and light. The staff were attentive as we ordered a feast. The restaurant is BYO but also offers a wine menu. Sontaya is wheelchair accessible, kid-friendly, offers good parking options, accepts credit cards, and has a take-away menu available.
