The food was really tasty overall, the pancakes and nacho burger were super yummy but I felt like the greens salad needed a little more flavour (for me it almost tasted too green although such a stunning dish) coffee was great overall a great place to stop for a coffee and some food during your shop!
Nestled in the hills of Eltham, The Main is a spacious cafe that is a welcome stop for breakfast, lunch or dinner. The eclectic menu has some delicious offerings, and the cake cabinet is laden with delicious looking sweet treats. Our waitress was attentive and lovely, and we were given a window side table with views over the main street below. The decor is modern and relaxed, and the cafe was very busy which adds to the buzzing vibe.<br/ <br/ We began with amazing coffee and some of the best fresh juices I've had recently. Being a hot day, these refreshing drinks were a great start, and you could definitely taste the freshness.<br/ <br/ There are some amazing savoury breakfast dishes to choose from, but the description of the breaky burger really enticed me. With a fried egg, bacon, home made hash browns and tomato chutney on a toasted brioche bun, who could resist it's charms? The toasted bun encased all the delicious fried goodies, and the sweet and spicy chutney was so tasty. All the goodness of a traditional fry up in a portable hand held casing. It was the best.<br/ <br/ As it was a hot day, we also chose the yogurt and granola acai bowl. This generous bowl had a divine acai mix, plenty of yogurt, crunchy granola and amazing fresh fruits. Extremely filling, but so fresh, chilled and delicious; the crunch of the granola was the perfect textural balance to the creamy and smooth acai and yogurt.<br/ <br/ The Main is definitely a pleasant cafe to visit, and is a standout venue in the area. The food is fantastic, the coffee is top notch and the staff encourage you to relax and enjoy yourself. We definitely enjoyed our visit and will return again soon.
This restaurant is a spacious casual dining spot with a private function area. The menu offers a wide variety of options. It's hard to resist the wood oven pizzas, but the stuffed mushrooms and eggplant fries are also tasty choices. The cocktail list is impressive. The staff is friendly and it's clear that many locals are regular visitors, thanks to the attentive and helpful service they provide.
Located 20kms North East of Melbourne is the village of Eltham, known for being home to Montsalvat, a popular spot for art enthusiasts. Fun fact - it is also where news presenter Peter Hitchener resides! In this quaint village, you'll find The Main café, nestled in the shopping precinct. Similar to its sister café Giorgio's of Armadale, The Main offers a high level of attention to detail and a similar dining experience. The venue itself provides a spacious modern setting perfect for family gatherings or intimate weekend catch-ups. The menu features Mediterranean-inspired dishes including wood fired pizza, pasta, burgers, salads, and share plates. A standout dish is the Baked Mushrooms with homemade ricotta feta cheese, semi-dried tomatoes, wild roquette, and crushed cashews.
We tried the Trio of Dips which came with crusty, oily and delicious bread along with hummus, eggplant, and pumpkin dips - all of which were fantastic. The Superfood Salad was a generous portion of greens, avocado, asparagus, nuts, chickpeas, and other delicious ingredients. The Vegan brownie was amazing - I highly recommend it whether you're vegan or not. The Espresso martini was also delicious. Overall, The Main is a fantastic place for dinner or drinks with family and friends.
