Even though this was French, the evaluators mentioned German food was great, why not. I'm sorry, but if that's the number two in town, something's wrong with the food here. It was average. Gordon Ramsey wouldn't agree. The whole vegetables in my dinner were frozen and the mushroom is in the sauce, if not the whole sauce, on the scavenger came out of a can. Now I'm a critical person when it comes to food and I hate a place to torpedo as I know it can kill and honestly if we're hungry, we could go back. I am mostly as critical as I expected and that was average. I was trying to give him 2 stars to bring it closer to the 3 but I went ahead and gave it 3. On the plus side for frozen veggies they were a bit better than the average frozen veggies I ate a bit overcooked, but well flavored. Potatoes were average. I got the mixed German meat plate and really liked all meats, could even go back to enjoy it again. Overall, they could evaluate 4 stars if not for frozen and preserved vegetables. Our tab, with drinks, but no dessert, for 2 came to 40 EUR. When closing a thought on sitting When you go. It was great to sit on the river when it was bright, but it became dark fast and it was crowded there and you can't see anything in the dark, so I would probably ask to sit from the fire, as this really looked beautiful and would be calmer.
We often buy in Emmerich, so we had the chance to eat almost all the restraurants along the promonade. We really like that! As the name says, there is a node to French menu options, but we REALLY LOVE their German food! We have everything... from Schnitzel, Haxe, Saurbraten to Quiche with salad and it tastes, good, German (what I want in a German restaurant! The service is friendly internationally with waiting staff from Poland, Cameroon Germany speak English, Dutch and German (and more is an absolute pleasure. They have outdoors, covered seating and Rhine-Promonade seating for a view of the Rhine nearby. We find this a great place to eat a solid German meal with prices that range from simply on budget to fine food.
After visiting Emmerich for antique markets a few times we have lunch or dinner without hesitation. The menu is a revelation for this place, filled with other German, Greek and Balkan restaurants. Very professional and friendly staff. Great wines and interesting dishes. You could almost forget to mention the great view over the Rhine. If you are looking for a few hours vacation, this is the place to rest your bones.
We happened onto this Restaurant and were presently surprised. We entered via the back entrance later found both a heated terrace tables abutting the Rhine promenade. The service was very good, but we found the food excellent. This is greaaat German eating! There...are several 'old fashioned ' German foods on the menu. My husband had a mixed grill of schnitzel beef with fried potatoes veg, served in the grill-pan, a tradition we liked very much in Southern Germany. We were too late for the obviously great kuchen and will therefore not judge the sweet we had. But the very fact that not a 'stuck kuchen ' was available speaks volumes, i.e., it 's good. We enjoyed the food the service very much! The price was typical of the average German restaurant as well--didn 't break the budget, but not for a thrifty saver.
Even on a Monday evening this restaurant was busy. We sat overlooking the Rhein in a heated terrace. The Menu was extensive but not over complicated. The food, although French themed was more german in its presentation however the taste and flavours were excellent. The...service was friendly the bill was very reasonable. Emmerich town is not attractive however the Boulevard makes a visit worthwhile.
