Carriage House Inn - Emmitsburg

Checked in with the hostess and told her we had reservations. Her comment was oh really? I said yes, from Open Table . Her comment was Oh, those don 't come through . Although they did accommodate us, this started off the experience badly.

Went to the Carriage House Inn on a Sunday late afternoon, after making a reservation. For a party of 2 we were seated next to the main door and had to tolerate cold temperatures, noise and people cons walking past our table. Our waiter was very slow and forgetful. We had to ask others to help us get things we requested from the waiter. The food itself was very good however they were pot of a lot of items we wanted to eat. For example the soup of the day was beef vegetable and the waiter had to come back and get a new soup order. Then I wanted Italian dressing, which was not available then I asked for butter for my green beans and had to wait 10 minutes. My spouse had to ask the person at the front desk to remind our waiter of the request. The other thing was my spouse ordered the burger without the bun which comes with fries, he also ordered a salad. The waiter took it upon himself to not order the fries but did not ask my spouse if he wanted to substitute the salad for the fries. So unfortunately my birthday dinner was not as pleasant as I hoped. We usually have a good experience but this time around I was very disappointed. I would like to see the Carriage House Inn spend more time training their staff. The waiter not only ignored us but a few others at another table.

Bonnie was a great waitress, but when quoting specials, she was low on the prime rib by a couple dollars. The prime rib was not rare enough and doubtful it was 12 oz. And it included 2 sides. I ordered asparagus, got only 4 spears and no mention of a dollar up charge.

One of our favorite places! My friend and I meet halfway between our homes 4 times a year and this is the place!!! Great food; friendly service and newly renovated. It's beautiful!!!

Very friendly staff. we sat fast; our drink order was immediately taken; we haven't waited long for our food, although the restaurant was very busy. this was not our first visit, and we will certainly return.
