I started with a delicious strawberry iced daiquiri. Both of us ordered burgers, which were cooked to order and handmade. The menu is simple and straightforward. The burger I received was piled high with bacon, cheese, relish, lettuce, and fried onions. It was very tasty, although a little under seasoned for my preference. Chips need to be ordered as a side, but they were hot, crispy, and delicious. We didn't have room for dessert, but there was a nice selection available. The restaurant is a bit pricey and has an unassuming setting, normally serving farmhouse breakfast. The chef was a finalist on Master Chef and operates this place on weekends. If you don't mind paying more for a burger and chips, it's definitely worth a visit.
My three colleagues and I visited this excellent restaurant last night, unsure of what to expect. We had been recommended by a friend of a friend who didn't provide many details, but we decided to give it a try. The waiter suggested the volcano as a starter, and it was fantastic! We were all very excited by this point, having had a couple of glasses of wine. The burgers, despite the restaurant's name, exceeded our expectations. One friend even said it was the best burger he had ever had. Another temporarily set aside his vegan diet to share in the delicious experience. The restaurant had a great atmosphere, and we will definitely be returning. We left satisfied and full, but I couldn't resist trying the tempting dessert - a brownie with ice cream that left me speechless. Thank you to Chef Chris for a wonderful evening, and I can't wait to come back! Dan
I have been here several times now and I can honestly say the food is amazing.. the burgers are spot on... the baked Camembert starter is so delicious. The chips are also a firm favourite there is not one thing on the menu that I...can complain about. The service is great the food is amazing and it’s local. What more can a girl want there is something for everyone. Compliments to the chef..
Booked a table for as a family get together after hearing good reviews about this place.. WOW WOW WOW and a million more! Such friendly helpful staff, beautiful location and views ... and the food! Well between us all we had a mixture of...the burgers, I was the only one to try the hot chilli burger... and it was deliciously hot! EVERYONE said they had tasted the best burgers ever that night! If we lived closer to this restaurant we would visit every week. We all drove from different locations to meet there and it was so worth every mile driven. The volcano starter sharer was amazing too as were the deserts. My favourite desert is eton mess and this was BY FAR the best ever! In fact I need to return soon!! Highly recommended, beautiful place, beautiful staff and beautiful food. Then just as if it couldnt get any better, Chris the chef came to see us and say goodbye... he is as hot as the hot chilli burger he served!!
It took us an hour to get here because of traffic problems, but was worth every minute! The burgers are superb, the deserts to die for, staff are attentive and knowledgeable. A lovely touch when Chris popped out to make sure we had been happy...as we left, and we look forward to our next visit, when we will make sure we go extra hungry so we have enough space to fit the starter as well. Prices very reasonable and although we could have taken our own wine the house red was very reasonably priced and very drinkable.
