This place used to be great and i still think it has potential. The menu has a good selection on it, the staff are friendly and the actual quality of the meat was tasty and good. However the negatives are there's too many staff attending to your table which can confusing things for themselves. The bread was cold and dense. The cold starters felt room temperature, and on a hot day it wasn't that great to be at that temperature. The lahmacun wasn't tasty in comparison to other places, the bulgur/couscous was cold, the calamari wasn't nice, tasted like it was cooked from frozen and the price was very expensive we felt for what we had. I would get a takeaway from here saying that, with some sort of meat and side (rice/chips/bulgur etc) with a salad, we liked their chili and garlic sauce. Overall with a few improvements this place could be fixed to a great place so I wouldn't rule this place out completely in the future.
Ate here tonight! Wow! Couldn’t believe how the prices have shot up!! Free starters are gone! Had a very very sad looking salad then had to pay £6.50 for hummus that the waitress shows you what there selling from a very large tray that sits on the counter ALL the evening!! Both had mixed shish one with rice and one with chips! Served on a much smaller plate!! 5 pieces of chicken and 4 pieces of lamb! That’s it!! Never again !! Try The Fox pub instead!!
Absolute rip off, so bad, i would not usually even bother but their greed is disgusting, i bought a mixed kebab for £21 and chips for £6.50 and then delivery for a total £31.50. Let me say this was not magical chips or time warp kebab, in fact just a couple of chunks of meat on top of plain rice, very, very ordinary. Food is what you can expect from any decent kebab shop at 50% less cost, this place has no concept of value for money its ridiculous.
Vadi was a local gem and we have been huge fans and regulars for years. went Friday 4 November for a family birthday. On entering it seemed different, staff unfamiliar and had liost the friendly bustling atmosphere. The menu has changed and prices have increased massively . the Vadi Special is now called the family platter. It was great value at about £59 but is now £79.99. there used to be lots of sides of dips and entrees that arrived automatically but these had disappeared The food was still good but it was much quieter than usual especially for a Friday night and the former atmosphere has completely gone. The. staff have mostly changed and were ok but didn’t do any of the specials birthday treats (bring out s cake with sparkler sing happy birthday) that they did on previous visits. We used to love Vadi and whilst you expect prices to have gone up in the current climate this was a 30% jump and the general experience and service has deteriorated a lot. Disappointed and a real shame. Will be looking for another local favourite.
