Had evening meal with our friends 7 of us in total, good varied menu, pizzas and calzone excellent as were the starters.Drinks and the wine reasonably price as was the meal. Nice setting next to the church and very popular with the locals. Staff very friendly and accomodating worth a visit
My wife and I were spending the night in Enghien as part of her birthday celebrations and came across San Paolo a little bit by chance. I am not going to say that this was the best ever Italian meal we have had but for the price it was very decent. The restaurant has a very good ambience and the service was top class. For a Wednesday night it was pretty busy mainly with locals which says a lot in favour of an establishment. If you are ever in Enghien you could do worse than visit San Paolo.
This is a pretty standard italian... the pizzas aren't bad and are freshly made with a decent choice of toppings. However, if you don't fancy a pizza the pasta choices are pretty uninspired...I opted for something passing for a saltimbocca which came served with spagetti. It lacked the richness of flavours that should be present in this kind of dish - I'm not sure if it was really proscuitto but the result was pretty bland and not hot enough when served. I never had a dessert because the cold cabinet in the corner harking back to the 1980's put me off completly! And I fear that the ice creams are just the classic 'carte d'or' choices so omnipresent in France. In short, fine if everybody in your group wants pizza and a cold beer on their terrace which has a nice view of the church.
