Gasthaus Amplonius - Erfurt

We ended up here after not making a reservation where we wanted to eat on a Saturday night. The menu is usual german fare with lots of meat and potatoes. The flavour of the pork medallion dish was ok, but the pork was overcooked. I didn't want meat so chose a baked potato with spinach and feta from the blackboard menu. The Potato was very small for a main dish. The price of the food was reasonable, but the drinks were relatively expensive.

... have eaten 3x here or enjoyed the great Thüringer specialties of 4 days I spent in Erfurt. The sour roast, which I should enjoy twice, once with rose cabbage and one with apple cabbage, was a world power that was surpassed only by the Roulade (Erfurter Kanonenrohr) that tasted like with mothers... The service was excellent. Will be happy to come back

Super nice staff that even mix cocktails on request that are not on the map. The prices are top. I always like to go there.

Very friendly staff. Selected and very good map and special wishes are also discussed. The Happy Hour is definitely worth the visit; the reservation of Christian was quick and easy. I want to come back:

Because of a business trip, I was allowed to be here for two weeks. Accommodation and restaurant are rustic with a cosy ambience. Very nice and warm staff, which also likes to fulfill wishes. The food is absolutely delicious as well as fresh and homemade. You are welcome for the next time!
