Probably the freshest bread I've had in Erie a city dominated by chain restaurants and the dreaded subway steel city stands tall. The body bag is a monster of a sandwich only the insane should ever attempt
My 'go to ' pizza joint. Although there are other good pizza places in Erie, Steel City is the one I go to most often. Their pizza is New York style and is always fresh and delicious. The wait time for delivery can be excessive, but If it kills you to wait 40-60 mins then get off your ass and go pick it up! it will be ready in 20 minutes and it 's worth it.
Good. I haven't tried the subs yet but definitely the best pizza I've had in Erie.
Best Pizza Wings in Erie. Let me qualify this statement first, from what I've tasted thus far, Steel City has the best pizza and wings in Erie. The wings are huge and delicious (sauce comes on the side) and the pizza tastes as if it the brick oven fairies sprinkle each pie with their magical dust of approval (AKA smokey deliciousness). I also enjoy their ranch dressing for wing dipping and the occasional crust dunking (so I'm not that classy, what can I say I'm a ranch fiend/connoisseur).<br/ <br/ Previously, I listed South Gate and Stevo's at the top. That was my mistake. I also listed Edinboro's famous John's Pizza as the best in NWPA. My mistake again. I would Say Steel City is a tad better than even John's. I have yet to try Papa Joe's, so the jury is still out on the Erie pizza scene.
