Woody's Backwater Barge Grill - Erie

We love Woody's and always enjoy our visits to Erie—it's a fantastic place! However, this time I was carded, which took me by surprise since I didn't bring my purse. I never expected to be asked for ID at my age, especially when I’m in my 58th year! The person at the door made it even more awkward by questioning why I wasn’t carrying my driver’s license. I had walked a lot and didn't want to carry my large wallet around. I honestly didn't think I'd be carded at my age. It feels a bit ridiculous to card people who look under 30 when they’re clearly over 60.

I really loved the atmosphere, but I ended up ordering something that didn't quite suit my taste. I noticed other sandwiches that looked delicious and I wish I had chosen one of those. Still, I would definitely give it five more stars and recommend it! Enjoy!

My family was really looking forward to trying something new for dinner, and the soft shell crab sounded delicious. However, without even a smile or a greeting, we were abruptly informed that dogs are not allowed. This was disappointing, especially since we had our 20-pound fluffball with us. Ultimately, we decided to take our pup and our $150 elsewhere, and we won't be returning.

The atmosphere was very cool, but it remained there. Iced tea was watered, without taste. Eating is too expensive and terrible. If you fried things twice deep in old cooking oil, then I think this place is for & Server seemed uninterested at work.

We enjoyed Woody?s. The atmosphere was fun and the food was decent. Would I come back? Probably. Is it my favorite place to eat in Erie? Nope.
