Contribuisci feedbackI'm a big fan of the British and Irish pubs. And every time I am glad when I can find such places in every city I visit. And this pub, fortunately very good! In addition, we also got to the party with a quiz on knowledge of the culture and history of Ireland and the famous Irish!)) It was a lot of fun. Among the shortcomings can be noted a modest selection of British and Irish ales: there was only one, Murfey's, need more! Please note, the pub accepts cash only! Go with him, so as not to get into trouble.
It's wonderful to be able to taste such wonderful fish and chips outside UK... fish deep fried crispy with thin batter which is not oily at all... It's bit disappointed that the granny mac burger breads were cold and texture was bit looseGenerally the prices are reasonable and the pub is spacious with nice Irish pub ambience which is full of whiskey bottle boxes... the staff is very friendly
This pub has a very warm and friendly atmosphere. It has a very good buzz during the weekends and whenever they show football games (Bundesliga, English Premiere League, Champions League, etc.), rugby, etc. host live music and biweekly pub quiz. I visit this pub quite often, just to have dinner, drinks or watch football. The staff here is always cheerful, friendly and provide a very good service. My favorite drink here, so also for my friends, is the Murphy's Red and I personally like the Big Matt sandwich a lot here.
A very nice Irish pub with friendly waitresses and a very attentive publican who quite apparently is proud of his Irish family background. The pub offers a nice selection of Irish, English and German beers (notably Augustiner) and good pub fare which is prepared by a chef by trade! Bundesliga, Premier League, Rugby, Darts and Golf can be watched on three screens (live sports events/matches shown are usually announced in the pub or on the pub's website), and for those who like to throw the darts there is a nice dart corner available. Fridays and Saturdays there usually is live music, and every other Monday they have a hugely popular pub quiz where you will find the place packed so reservations are recommended if you want to play. The crowd here is quite international which is nice and not unusual for a town like Erlangen (with its University and companies like Siemens and Adidas). And for the name of the pub...what better way to show the love for your Granny than naming a pub after her! So, all in all thumbs up and Sláinte!
Nice friendly pub, and are open to showing the RWC games. I wasn't that craving for something to drink, so I wanted to delay to have a beer until half time of the game. To keep 'good-faith' my wife ordered a Cola in the meantime. The one barman came a few minutes later and kind of forced me to order a beer so "I wasn't watching the game for free"! Pity I had to order my beer a little earlier and made to feel bad for it, but it was a good game nevertheless and made up for the rather bitter feeling I was left with.
