We have eaten here a number of times and each time has been a good experience. The service is efficient rather than friendly but the menu deserves your attention. The rooms and ambience are quite similar to an English pub but good Franken food and drink are delivered.
The interior of this place is already amazing, it is like a history book opened up for real. The food on the menu is traditional German, so in the beginning, I was somewhat hesitant, but then decided to give it a try. I had venison with bread dumplings and red cabbage, and truly every bite was a pleasure. Accompanied by a locally brewed beer (non of the big brands well know all over the country), I had a perfect dinner. Not to forget the friendly service.
Had dinner in this place last night. The restaurant has a cozy feel and the staff is free. The menu options are typical for this area but the wine list is limited. The food was well prepared but the portions were a bit big. All in all an ok place, good for almost any occasion, but not exceptional.
You would expect a French or Italian course meal in this fine dining atmosphere but instead you get Sauerbraten with Kartoffelklöße, Franconian specialties. The food is really nicely presented and with a stretch, you can almost say that German food can be elegant.
