La Cantina - Escanaba

I can only say "Wow!" As soon as you enter, you're welcomed by beautiful, vibrant furnishings that instantly lift your spirits. The friendly and cheerful staff adds to the great atmosphere. The food is delicious and truly authentic. I even tried the cheesecake chimichangas for dessert, and they were fantastic—made right in the restaurant!

We had a larger group dining together, and I was really impressed with the waitress's performance. Although they seemed a bit short-staffed, our food arrived in a reasonable amount of time and was delicious. The only thing I was a bit disappointed about was that they didn't have Horchata available. My son ordered the monster burrito, and I highly recommend it if you have a big appetite!

I had a chicken and shrimp burrito topped with melted white cheese, served with a side of sour cream and rice. It was absolutely delicious! The chef even came out to welcome me, which was a lovely touch. I also enjoyed a refreshing home-style margarita. I left feeling very happy as a customer. Thank you for yet another great experience! The friendly service and smiling faces made it all the better.

Decent variety of food. I would say overall I would give them a 4.5 if the option was available. They tend have the common Mexican food you find at most places. However they do offer a pork taco or El pastor that you don't find often which is nice. The lunch portions are a little small but with the rice and beans it makes just right. They recently have a new chef who seems to know what they are doing as the food seems to better then last time I was in a year ago.

Food was great! Service was very friendly. Plenty of food, large portions, definitely will not leave hungry. Restaurant was clean, atmosphere was very nice. Short staffed, but even with that said, they were great in handling it all! Visiting from Alabama.
