Au Vieux Moulin is a treasure hiding in a Vosges Mountain valley. Cozy ambiance. Excellent french food. Professional service. Worth the drive. Highly recommended.

We stayed for two nights in the hotel which was average. The restaurant on the contrary was a real surprise and the dishes were delicious

It was a quiet Tuesday night in the off-season, and our party of six arrived without a reservation. There were two occupied tables in the large, well-lit dining room, where we received a friendly welcome from Madame. While we browsed the carte we were served wee walnut bread buns, which were delicious. Most of us had the €31 three-course meal, though a couple had just the two-course €27 version. After we had ordered, we were brought an amuse-bouche of a sort of pumpkin soup, which even those (me) who are not mad on pumpkins (nor indeed soups) found very tasty.It was a good meal, good service though the room was on the bright side.

We have recommended this place to some friends from us at the weekend and they were thrilled. it was a special occasion and they wanted to celebrate it together with their family members. they were not disappointed, quite in the opposite! each of the 7...courses proposed in the menu balade was a leak for the palate and the eyes! I can't expect to go back there myself!
