Il Pomodoro - Essen

Nice friendly staff and the food tasted well. It seems to be more specialized in pizzas and pastas but I took a steak and it was very nice and tender. Cooked exactly as I wanted it, ordered a rare. Prices were quite ok too.

What impressed me about this place was the variety of food. I could have gotten a pizza with many different toppings. The same could be said of the salad and pasta offerings. The young lady next to me had the seafood salad with a generous...portion of various seafood. I opted for the pizza gamberoni (shrimp), as we don't make it enough in US restaurants. The service was outstanding. I was slowly translating the German menu when the waiter simply handed me an English one. He made the decision quicker so I could start enjoying my meal and a couple of beers faster. For this, I thank him and tip my hat.

Visited with colleagues and sat outside. Good food and service. In Essen on business and only a short walk from the nearby Atlantic hotel.

The atmosphere was good as was the food. Small area but well laid out and sufficient room for each guest to feel that they had their own space. Pizzas were well prepared and served and friendly staff throughout. Nothing extra special but nice restaurant.

Dinner with collegues. All meals were very good. personnel very friendly and great atmosphere. Will definitively come back!
