Shabu Shabu - Essen

A slight misnomer as it is named after a japanese hotpot dish. though this restaurant offers hot pot - and it might be their specialty (?) - the bulk of the menu offerings are sichuan chinese. they offer things that would be really hard to find in germany, if not most of europe ... intestines, duck tongue, etc... and spiced to an electric tingling level courtesy of the sichuan peppers that not many can tolerate or appreciate.the decor - theres none. literally. walls are absolutely barren. and the bathroom situation isnt that clean. it wont win any awards for ambience.ignore the 1* reviews here. if people are looking for horrible generic pan-asian 5 euro "noodle" place that sprouts all over europe... they wont like it. for the adventurous palates who seek something exotic... this is absolutely it.

I was there last time with a friend and he refuses to go again because he hates the food there. I was thinking to give it a try again so I go alone. Then they said I have to pay 5 Euro extra for being ALONE. But I do not see any big sign nor any clear regulation that they are against SINGLE person.It is very rude and that girl who told me that see me with disguise look. I can not be more pissed. I would never go there again. And right, my friend said why should I give a bad restaurant a second chance. I regret that I did not listen to him.

Very delicious food at an unbeatable price. The staff is very friendly. You like to eat there.

It was good. Too bad it's not a buffet. But very nice waiters and waiters. drinks included and the price unbeatable.

This is the best place for firepot wide and wide! The dishes are 100% original Chinese cuisine! Really a secret tip in the Ruhr area!! The staff is very attentive and explains every single ingredient! Not only for firepot 火锅 a great restaurant, but for many Chinese authentic dishes. There are also sharp dishes with original sharpness! If you like it less sharp, you just need to express your wish when ordering. Last but not least, I would like to mention the very successful sauces that make the dishes so delicious that you get almost addicted! The special feature of Chinese cuisine is the many spices and flavors that give a strong taste! Shabu Shabu or also Shuan Ba 涮吧, is my clear favorite here in the pot!!!
