A group of us went to lunch after we walked the levada near. the choice was fish, pork or grilled pork for the main square. we also had brot, olive and salat, a selection of coffee or pineapple mousse for dessert plus a drink (wine, bier or softdrink) and coffee. friendly and cheerful service. all for €7,50!
As others have done, this was a stop for lunch after a walk around the levada. We had the set lunch of delicious piri-piri roast chicken, chips, salad and bread. As it was a very hot day and we had to drive after we opted...for a large bottle of mineral water rather than the wine. We then had chocolate mousse and espressos. What a bargain, all this great food for two people at Euro 15. We will definitely visit again.
Definitely not a tourist cafe. Was the starting and finishing point of a 5 mile walk along the levada. Absolutely excellent. The owner speaks English so we were able to explain we only wanted a toastie, coffee, wine and cake if at all possible. It...was, and we were plied with enormous plates of food for an incredibly small amount of money. If you are doing the circular walk from here, DO go in. It was first class. I just wish it was nearer to Portimao (25 mins drive) so we could return. I think the taxi was 23 Euros each way for 4 people for our walk. Made for a superb day out.
We stopped here for lunch after a walk along the lavada between Silves and Portimao. Inside there is an enormous eating area, which we were told fills up when they have evening dances. We had the daily lunch menu of fried chicken and chips with...the tomato salad, followed by a sort of coffee mouse and coffee, accompanied by a carafe of house red wine. It was all ridiculously cheap I think about 7.50 Euros per head.
