The Humber Room - Etobicoke

Our group had a fantastic time at this restaurant while celebrating our last day of school! The students were exceptionally polite and attentive. The food was delicious, although I would have preferred if they offered alcohol instead of just mocktails. I sampled the $5 grilled octopus, the $12 smash burger, and a $4 mocktail. I took some photos of the Miami key lime pie, but I didn’t get to try it because I was already too full. I would definitely love to come back! It's a shame I only discovered this place two days ago. Kudos to the students!

The waiter left, only to return and ask if we needed the bill again, completely overlooking my previous complaint about the pasta. When I brought it up once more, he left and didn’t return. Another waiter came by, and when I mentioned the pasta issue to him, he too walked away without addressing my concern. I rarely send food back because I feel guilty about it, but the pasta was simply inedible, so my friends generously offered me some of their meals instead. As a student on a budget, I didn’t feel I should have to pay for something I couldn’t eat. Eventually, the same kind waitress who had been refilling our water throughout the evening stopped by. I mentioned the pasta issue again, and she finally went to get a manager. When I explained the situation to the manager, she seemed quite annoyed that I was dissatisfied and spoke to me in a condescending manner. Ultimately, she begrudgingly agreed to remove the item from my bill. Overall, if you enjoy soggy pizza, dry pasta, rude managers, and subpar customer service, this might be the place for you.

I had an incredibly disappointing experience with the customer service here. I called to ask about the drink menu and spoke with someone named Julianne or Joanne. Her demeanor was very curt and unhelpful when I inquired about their selection of red wines. To top it off, she hung up on me without even saying goodbye. This restaurant really needs to hire staff who have proper customer service skills and basic business etiquette!

I visited to support a friend who was completing their final exam in the gastronomy program with a dinner event. While I can’t comment on the food since my friend was the chef for that evening, I found the restaurant to be cozy and welcoming. I look forward to returning sometime to try the menu.

We encountered problems with our meals, specifically the potatoes being undercooked. When we tried to address this with the manager, there was no resolution, nor did we feel any genuine effort was made to remedy the situation. Overall, it was poorly handled, and I cannot recommend this restaurant.
