They also serve focaccia bread at the table with a balsamic dip. The house red is pretty good too. Service is speedy and the price is very reasonable for Italian. Also street parking is available.
It was Friday night so we decided to go out for dinner. I let my husband choose for once. He opted for Thyme. From the outside, it looked like a quaint little restaurant with an area for outdoor seating. I like that! Id visit during warmer weather just to do some people watching and dine. When we arrived, it wasn't overly crowded and we were greeted by the friendly Italian owner. We both ordered fettucine. Hubby ordered the pesto fettucine and I ordered the carbonara. I ordered this hoping it was made with egg yolks even though the menu did say it was a white wine cream sauce. Right before we received our pasta, we were given delicious focaccia slices to start. This was my favorite part of the meal. Unfortunately it literally came a minute before we got our pasta so we were eating bread and our pasta at the same time. His pesto pasta had delicious well spiced Italian sausage and a medley of vegetables atop pesto pasta. The pasta was al dente. My carbonara was rich and creamy with LOTS of bacon. They were very generous with that. That was good too. We ordered tiramisu for dessert and a coffee for hubby. The coffee arrived after we had finished the dessert and I was disappointed with the dessert. It tasted to me like lady fingers covered in mascarpone cheese . The lady fingers had not been soaked in espresso. It tasted fine because you cant go wrong with lady fingers or mascarpone cheese but it wasn't an authentic tiramisu. In the middle of our meal, a group of people were sat next to us. They were very loud. The loudest group of people in the restaurant and we happened to be the ones sitting next to them. Talking to my hubby, I had to talk louder and louder just so he could hear me. In the end we decided to leave quickly.
Awesome - growly waitress but that's just the way she was - food was great. Decent decor. Good for the family.
My sister and I had a early dinner at Thyme last Sunday - we quite surprised by the service, cleanliness, white table cloths and over good food. Service was very pleasant for 2 servers. We enjoyed the salmon, shared a caesar saladand carrot cake with fresh brewed def coffee.
I have ordered take out for monthly meetings for work. Last night would've been my third time. First time I had a seafood pasta. It was ok; shrimp a little over-cooked. Last time I had the veal with Gorgonzola - it was good. Last night I had the "Venetto" pasta with sun-dried tomato, mushroom and chicken. Salty! and very oily. It was not ok. One person in the meeting who originally suggested it really likes their gnocchi. Another person thinks the same as I do (we are both foodies). Maybe the food isn't as good for delivery. The portions are generous. Sorry to say I can't say it's any better than average and nothing special. Prices are (to me) very reasonable. Seafood pasta around the 15$ mark. Entrees in general are well below $20
