Doc's Pad - Eugene

If I could give this place fewer stars, I certainly would. It has been under new ownership since the beginning of 2023, and unfortunately, the quality has declined. Their well drinks are now around $2 higher than the average in downtown Eugene. The menu is not only difficult to read but also outrageously priced; for instance, a burger costs around $20 without fries. The owner is not impressive at all.

I took my nephew to celebrate his 21st birthday with a drink, and we had a wonderful experience. The bartender was fantastic—very personable, friendly, and excellent at making recommendations. She suggested a couple of menu items that we tried, and they did not disappoint. We're planning to return for a full meal because the appetizers were outstanding. The kitchen staff was also incredibly nice, helpful, and friendly. This visit was around 4 PM on January 23rd.

Love this place. Recently under new ownership. Brandon, the new owner is the owner and head brewer of Manifest brewing. He's a hard worker and it shows.I have to say, if you go to Doc's, get the Cubano! You won't be sorry!

Food and service was absolutely wonderful. Prices were great. Very good beer selection. Best part was if you don't want something with you meal, they subtract the price of what you didn't want. 48 years old and I have literally never seen or heard of that before. That was awesome. Definitely will be eating there again. It's super great to have a grill and tap house on that side of town.

The bar staff here are exceptionally attentive and knowledgeable. The fried pickles were just okay; I'd say they tasted better after a few drinks. The atmosphere on a game day Sunday was lively and noisy, while the outdoor area offered a more relaxed experience. There's a pool table and some video slot machines tucked away in the back near the restrooms. I have to give a half star for the keg-style urinal—it’s an interesting touch. The space is spacious, and the updated kitchen seems to be producing fairly decent food, like the slightly breaded sliced pickles. I look forward to trying some better main dishes on my next visit.
