I mean I missed my eggs but I wouldn't fault their food... If you're vegan or would like to try vegan food- this is the place for you .... Lots of gluten free options too
All food drinks have always been really good fresh at Nagev the Plant based cafe. Friendly staff. I guess people (and the cafe/restaurant) want to hear also what could be improved upon. So that being said the omnivore liked the PB brekky burger, he said he would’ve liked some tomato or some sort of acidity with his as the ‘Nagev’ sauce wasn’t quite enough, I shared my tomato he said it then balanced it a lot better cut through the creaminess which overtook the limited bacon he was given. I did pay extra $3.50 for mushrooms and although they were cooked perfectly, I did feel it still was not real value for money for how much I got. Same goes for the very limited house baked feta.. it was more like a garnish amount. It does have to be said that the toilet needs attention (I understand it’s an old building) but what I mean is having extra soap they had run out albeit a tad mixed with water. And although I appreciate the no paper towels, there was only a tea towel hanging on back of door to dry hands on, it would be great to have an all natural antibacterial gel to use as well. The seats are not the most comfy (no backs and hard) the tables aren’t friendly to my MS affected legs as the table legs are in the way unless you lift put them over the ledge. More able bodied people wouldn’t think too much about this, but I do. Wheelchair access would be fairly difficult particularly independently, as there is steps into the cafe, fortunately I didn’t need it and we got a rock star carpark out the front! Still, wouldn’t stop us/ me from going again (4th time there so far) Just something to think about. Coffee drinkers said it was very good coffee. The sweet potato fries (and regular fries) are really good you can taste that they don’t use old oil that they use good quality salt, lightly sprinkled on top (I usually hate people adding salt for me) Cost of 3 brunch meals (1 with ‘extra’ mushrooms), 3 drinks a side of sweet potato fries was $75+ dollars. It’s really great to see take home meals available, I would’ve liked to have the option of the current green curry rice on the menu so I could’ve tried before I bought, however we did take home some pastries
It’s as simple as: there is no where this GOOD in Adelaide. Nagev takes the title for sure. Every time I have eaten there I have been blown away. The money you pay is for the excellent quality of the food, so trust me- it’s worth it.
Have been before but took my non-vegan son and my vegetarian daughter for lunch. Verdict- excellent! My daughter had the Nagev burger with the sweet potato fries-she enjoyed this thoroughly. My son said he 'wouldn 't have known it was vegan except that it had no meat in it '-not a boy genius! He usually baulks at the idea of vegan food but reported that it was 'really good ' and was impressed by the fact that he felt full after (he has previously stated that he only feels full if he eats meat). Drinks were also of an excellent standard AND they don 't use disposable straws! I might have some vegan converts on my hands soon!
I loved this place! It's trendy, cute, clean, the waitress was really nice, the treats in the cabinet looked amazing, from the moment I walked in I loved it. It's so nice to order anything off a menu and just know it's all vegan. The peace of mind I have eating somewhere 100% vegan is so much better than eating anywhere else. We had the French toast which would have been beautiful except it was a bit burnt which is the reason for not giving a 5, and the burger which was divine. We also had a peanut butter crunch smoothie which was perfect and a matcha chai. I'm one of those heathen sugary chai powder lovers so the chai wasn't my fave but still ok. The salted caramel peanut butter butterbing was the best thing I've ever had in my mouth!
