Firehouse Grill - Evanston

The firehouse terrace was a socket through the pandemic. We ate there at 30 degrees weather and at 10. March we were able to enjoy our time as it was speed over 50. Good casual food, beautiful servers, happy time.

Great place! Only 2 things very hard rock play very loud at noon... Perhaps forget to switch switches to more general customer-friendly music? Don't blur... forget?

We always enjoy the firehouse. this time, my hospitable, a COVID survivor, who meets on lack of taste questions, needed her eating specially chosen and ready to meet her needs. the personal was 100 to listen and work to give her exactly what she wanted and it worked well and she could taste the things she had ordered. we sat in the back or north end of the house main dining room with ample rooms around us and we felt very comfortable and safe. we talked about big talk and the personal never tried to turn the table and often asked us when we needed something. we're coming back.

I had a great burger at Firehouse and the rest of the food was delicious. The problem was the seating. I realize during covid times that restaurants are all trying to do their best so I write this review more as info for them then a criticism. We were a 4 top and they sat us at a table that could not comfortably hold 4 people. They could not seat us in a comfortable way on the table to remain 6 feet from the next table. We asked if we could move to a booth and they said they needed to keep that open. By the time we finished our dinner no one had sat at the table next to us or the booths. If people had come and they asked us to rearrange at the table for 6 feet of distance I would have happily done so but I felt like they prioritized the comfort of the imaginary people didn't come in over us after we made the decision to support their restaurant. I will absolutely go back to Firehouse but probably not until we are back to normal dining.

I’ve eaten here often. We went for the first inside dining this year. We had an unclean table with food crumbs and obviously no sanitizing. We had to ask for it to be cleaned. I also had an unclean glass with lipstick marks on it. The food and drinks were good, as usual, but the place didn’t seem very clean.
