El Charro Mexican - Evansville

This is probably the best place for lunch on the west side. You will receive free chips and salsa, and a drink with the $8 lunch specials included. There is a nice list of options for lunch so you can have a delicious meal for $8 plus tip. The restaurant was clean, the food was good, and the service was also good. El Charro deserved 5 stars.

Don't listen to the bad comments here about this place. This place was great!!! It's in a strange location, but worth the hunt. You had $1,99 Margaritas! How can you do that wrong? And it was on a Friday night. Thus, they could use a small maintenance on the inside, so it looks as if the electrical wiring completely depends on several lights, so what if a cabin looks like the rest of the ceiling “Give-way” and the light will fall completely on someone’s head in this stand. Just don't put someone in this booth! Why am I such a supporter for this place you could ask? Because this was the only Mexican restaurant of three to which we went, actually had a normal salsa! It wasn't super sweet and it wasn't rough. It was good! And it probably had the best hands down Mexican food I ever had! A court first of all. It was called the “pollo indiana”!!! Omg was amazing. If you ever had and like Arroz con pollo from other Mexican restaurants,then You will LOVE this court. It's that, but with chorizo above. The chicken is actually a large flat piece, with all the delicious cheese covered blows drizzled everywhere. They do not put it on the rice that is on the side, but you can easily put it over in the cheese. This court was great! It's a must. The waitress also brought us our own pitcher water. Now I know that some people think this is their way to be lazy, but I have actually appreciated it. I don't have to wait for refills. They also had Delicious Queso. It had small pieces of Jalapeños in it. But don't worry, it wasn't overwhelming and too spicy at all. There is also something called an Anaconda challenge for the big eaters. Some people like such challenges. We made it clear. But it's an option for you. I think you win a free t-shirt and your meal is free. I'm glad we discovered this little hidden jewel. There were many locals, so you know that this is always positive.

The chicken on the beach was great! It was a little late, and they kept my food warm until I arrived. Great atmosphere! And they gave out free calendars!

Been coming here for lunch for a while now and every time the food is quick, delicious. The lunch menu is a good price and it's always great to eat here.

Not too fancy but Excellent food and a lot of it. Got steak fajitas and was a lot of sizzling meat peppers and onions. Plenty of garnish. Food tasted great and will get 3 meals from 1 order. My new Mexican restaurant. Eric from Lombard IL
