Little Ronnie's - Everman

Although it's located near I-35, this restaurant feels pleasantly off the beaten path. The staff here are friendly and offer a 10% discount for veterans and service members. They serve top-quality barbecue that has earned recognition in an earlier Texas Monthly Top 50 list. We were treated to complimentary tastings of brisket chili (which was very good) and brisket sausage, which we immediately ordered along with two sides: seasoned fries and green beans. We also shared a brisket cheeseburger and ordered a second helping of seasoned fries. With two refillable soft drinks, the total came to just $24.09, which is a great value. During our trip to Texas, we visited six BBQ joints, all of which were featured either in a monthly Top 50 or the latest Top 25. We found Longoria's to be solid, but the sides could use a bit of improvement.
