Now the guy behind the bar continued to give us nasty looks and constantly would stare at us while we ordered and made us extremely uncomfortable. Selection was ok to choose from. My reisling was mediocre. The beer we recieved was ok nothing spectacular. The outdoor seating was roomy and nice and same with the indoor. Would love to come back but if that guy is behind the bar we rather take our business elsewhere.
Good Beer, not family friendly. My wife, two young ones and I headed over for a little 530PM respite and enjoyed a nice IPA. During the course of our 30 minutes there My wife and 2 year old were admiring their brightly lit pumpkin decorations and were rudely admonished by one of the bartenders with a Um Hello exclamation when my son touched a pumpkin. This was followed by plenty of eyeballing from said bar tender, so we left. It 's a nice place but they clearly don 't want families around, unlike other breweries in the local area and greater Pittsburgh region. Best of Luck...
Amazing atmosphere. Great new outdoor patio. The beer is exceptional and never disappoints!
I discovered this place in a whim. I had been traveling in Ohio the whole week and this was on my way back to Philadelphia by means of Pittsburgh. Let the record state that I am a English style beer guy; meaning I prefer a more malt forward presence verse more hoppy stylings. I was drawn to this local (somewhat off the beaten path) brewery because they had a cream ale on tap. The location is smack dab in the middle of an industrial park which, IMO, would qualify it as a hidden gem. The space consists of the single man door with the overhead roll up garage style doors. Tap menu over the serving bar with some swag to purchase as an added bonus. Let me type the cream ale did not disappoint and I was pleasantly surprised with the overall offerings they had the for masses on a Thursday night. (Of which there was not a food truck no worries) I would recommend this spot if you are a beer geek and need to get your local fix of craft brews. I will be making return trips in the future (and as work permits). Well done.
So....this place is my favorite brewery. I think the main reason why is their dry Irish stout, but they don't always have it available. However, their brewmaster always has something good on tap. The bartenders are always knowledgeable about the beers on tap. And they're neither crazy friendly or obnoxious...pleasant without being up in your face happy. I've never been there when they have a band or live music, but they almost always have a food truck around. The other thing I like about them is that they have a nice little outdoor area with about 8 picnic tables. Bottom line for Devout: modest decor, no frills, really good beer.
